I have a 360 LA block motor with edelbrock 60779 heads.
I'm running some 'professional products' adjustable roller rockers (bushed for shaft/roller tip). I cheaped out when I bought them and I'm getting tired of the adjusters coming loose here and there.

I'm thinking about going with some Harland sharps to set up and not bother with in-between tune ups. Are they pretty reliable? Do they come with everything they need- shafts, hold downs? Are the shaft bolts going to fit my heads?

I would like to hear from anybody who has put H/S rockers on their Eddys. I know aftermarket parts always need a little massaging and hardware store trips but I don't want to pull my heads to tap bigger hold down threads or anything like that. Other options are definitely not out of the question. I have a set of 273 adjustables but they're old and a little worn out. I'm only running a .525 lift HFT cam so I don't need T&D or anything.
Thanks.

Running Sharps on both my BB and a set of Indybrocks. Both have been dead-reliable, as are the set on my race W2 heads, and they've been there for 15 years.

I have been running Harlands on my small block for eleven years with no issues about 200 runs a year. First on the 360 and then now on the 410. Very happy with the Harlands and the Edlebrocks.

That sounds pretty good!

Can I buy the kit for around $600 or do I need to get the $1000 kit? I suspect my newish but not hardened shafts will be fine but will the stock hold-downs work right for spacing them out etc.? I have the side to side shims, but not billet hold downs.

I ran the stock shafts and hold down for about 5 years then upgraded to the hardened shafts and billet hold downs. Figured I was starting to push my luck. Goodluck with your project.

Harlan Sharps use a true roller bearing on the shaft I would not use any shaft other than the ones that Harlan Sharp send out with there rockers.
I have a set on my Indybrocks that fit and work great.

I didn't want to budget those HS setup. This comp setup was about $400 cheaper.

Send your 273 rocker arms to Rocker Arm Specialist. www.rockerarms.com is the address. Not sure if Gary is still there or not. He is the guy to talk to and he can set you up. He'll bush the rockers, correct the ratio, install new adjusters, etc.

The new Comp rocker arms look good. I have an older set without the bushings. I need to get one of the newer sets so I can check them out.

No need for bannana grooves with those. The supplied shaft with extra thick and meaty too.

A little worried they will bleed too much oil. If they do, we are thinking of replacing necked down head bolt for rocking oiling with a standard bolt. We'll see soon...

BTW, regarding stock 273 adjustable rockers and OOTB Edelbrock heads - my buddy Jack showed me how ALL the rocker arms need clearancing on one of his customer's heads. They all hit the retainers.
Just FYI.
Another point - I got an RAS SB rocker arm setup (SS, bushed, roller tip), but every time I tried to recommend it here, I got pounced on by people saying the HS (aluminum, needle bearing) are better, so I just stopped recommending it.
The Comp used to be a little iffy with no bushing, but I guess the new ones should be ok.

"Hey mister, something's wrong with your car, it idles roughly" - number one comment I got in Israel when daily driving a 70 Barracuda with a lopey cam.

Currently working on - 1966 Dodge A100 van 318/auto
Finally - disc brakes on the front.
In the plans - rear disc brakes, B&M 250 blower

Yeah I'm pretty tempted to get the H/S setup if I spend some $

I'm also tempted to take my cheap ones off, mark them, measure them, clean all the oil off them and red loctite the adjusters, then put them back in with some 20/50 to butter up the shafts and pushrod cups.

Eeeh, it's only $ right!

Thanks for the education fellas.
