I need a pic of the side of a 71 challenger showing the front fender with the challenger script. any one have an origanal car with those emblems? My cars at the body shop and we are at the point where the fenders are being done and as far as I can tell my fenders are from a 70 with the emblems are ubove the body line. I beleave they should be below the line. I need to figure out their placement. Thanks

That second picture is not correct for a '71, '71's were below the contour line. Here is a picture of the side of one of my cars.

Is your car built in August or early September 1970? If so, the 1970 fenders may be correct for your car, and those emblems placed correctly. Even though you have a 1971 model, it might have left over fenders from 1970. Picture of original 1971 Challenger built September 8, 1970.

January 21, 1971 Original owner was selling it in 2006....27,165 original miles. Most likely the original fender (with original dents )

There are more, but you get the idea. For those of you following this thread: Does anyone know why most 1971 Challengers do not have those emblems on the fenders? It seems that I have more pictures of no emblem fenders, then those with emblems.

I thought in 71 they went to the adhesive stick on Challenger emblems. Maybe on original cars that have fallen off? And on repainted cars there are no holes to fill, so they just leave them off. Just a WAG.
