little buddy OP member L Joined: Nov 2010 Posts: 23 ohio	Bought new tank for my 71 bee,should I paint it or powder coat it.If I powder coat it I was thinking about clear.Has any one done this.

generallee6901 mopar G Joined: Mar 2009 Posts: 465 indiana	I have powder coated 2 tanks.One has been on the car for 8 years and still looks great.I did mine in silver with a clear coat since was not original.

DAYCLONA I Live Here Joined: Dec 2007 Posts: 18,157 Mass	Different approach,...I polished out the galvinized finish on my new tank for my Daytona with 0000 steel wool by hand, then clear coated with Dupont Chromacolor Preimer clear coat,....almost 7 yrs it been on the car, rain or shine, thousands of miles, still looks like day one Mike 6504470-melon9.jpg (97 downloads)

I ordered three before I got the right one with the correct galvanized finish. Why would you paint a NEW tank ? Its plated already. My tank on my 71 Charger R/T is 12 years old and no signs of rust .
