You need hog ring pliers, and get at least two different sizes of rings--one longer, one shorter.
Do it in the warm sun if possible.
New foam is HIGHLY recommended unless yours is REALLY good (which is rare). Buckets are harder than benches, and some buckets are harder than others--it depends on the design. Plastic sheeting (a garbage bag) over the foam will help you slide the new cover over it, then you pull the plastic out. Work slowly and evenly from side to side. Stretch tight.

Others will chime in with more tips!

replace your foam! you can get from dante, world of diffrence in comfort and fit,you have a bench? do one of your backs at a time so you can refrence the other, take digital pics during striping, may not need but if you do you'll become super excited you took them, like said do in the sun if possible, and the trash bag idea works awesome take your time no rush

i did mine w/out changing the foam & it came out fine. i did stuff some extra foam in some areas that needed it though. like the other poster said, better to do it on a warm, sunny day; the vinyl will be more pliable & that will make the job easier. your fingers will be sore!
