I wouldnt.. The Torque flite will be quicker, and just run better overall on the street. By the time you buy the adapter and get it in the car they are also more money. If it was a 100% bracket car, maybe, but still slower than a 727. The glide has a place but IMO in cars that are moderately light in weight. If the car weighed 2400lbs yes... I mean what advantages does one expect with a glide driven on the street... zero all cons...

Eddy Miller is doing pretty good on the street with his glide. Kenny Ford at PTC said if i tried a 1.80 first gear glide i would never look back.
Good point It be safe to say Eddie Miller is making 1000+ HP motor only, and then add the spray. Are you trying to say this would be a good comparison? I have built and raced glide's behind Mopars. The car was light, and the engine was making 850-900HP also. The stock glides are junk period. To make one live it will need a thousand dollars worth of parts, which wouldnt include labor, or a gear set. The stock 1.76 are plenty strong, dont let anyone tell ya diff. I ran a stock 1.76 gear set two seasons of 1 second flat 60ft in a 2300+lbs car. basic parts needed... -1.76 gear set minimal.. these are getting harder to find and will cost several hundred dollars unless you get lucky. -Harden input shaft 300M minimal -billet servo piston -factory brittle high clutch drum/hub -valve body -rebuild kit -pump modifications, and case modifications I looked at a half dozen cases before I found one that wasnt cracked. Look around the oil cooler ports for cracks, and also the servo piston bore. I picked up used converter and adapter kit, and still cost me $2K all said and done.. You buying stuff twice if your switching over... Drive shafts, shifters, converters. They are cheap to maintain, and if your starting from scratch it wont be so bad. Just some thoughts on expenses.

I ran a Glide in the Valaint. 3470lb race weight 1.28 60' best and it went 9.02 at 149. That was all motor 511" B1 set up on a 28x10.50 tire with 4.30 gear. The over 3000lbs and a glide is not a good choice is simply a myth...

No doubt there Eric. Mine was a stock geared 1.76 trans. It actually went in the Cuda as well until it met an untimely death....It owed me nothing as it had logged probably over 1000 passes on the gearset. But here is video of it's last launch... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YcBhnjOrAgg
