This is a quote from the MSD manual.. "The
ignition control can be mounted in most positions except
upside down." Has anyone ever mounted it upside down? I wanted to put it under my battery tray.

Why not make a bracket or just mount it sideways in that same area?

I mounted mine under my cowl upside down over 10 years ago .
It's never given me a problem.

It's for draining water if it gets in wet conditions. It's basically a bathtub when upside down.

It's not because of any electronics needing to be oriented in any manner.

I've got one under the battery tray on my wife's Barracuda. Mounted right-side up too.

...and as stated above, MSD does not want the end user to mount the box upside down due to moisture issues.

My 6AL has been mounted upside down for 6 years or so w/ no issues. It is in the glovebox though, so it never sees moisture.
