i need some 15 x 8 steel wheels for my 65 b-body. what vehicles (non - mopar) would have these? i've read where ford wheels will not center on the hub of a mopar axle but wouldn't any aftermarket wheel be the same (non hub centered)? i have access to a good junk yard with a lot of older vehicles so any ideas would be great. i would also like to use the small diameter dog-dish type hub caps.

thanks

OEM Ford wheels won't work because most used a smaller register diameter than Mopar.

The only STEEL wheel is the 77/78 basically RamCharger/Trailduster and dodge trucks. All the others are 15x7. The 15x7 came on everything from Dippy's to Aspens.

any other OEM wheel options? Dodge trucks 77-78 might be a possiblity? I know there are not any ramchargers at this yard but i have seen some 70's dodge trucks. When did dodge change the bolt pattern on the trucks?

thanks

Why not just get some from Summit?

They're pretty cheap, you can get a few different offsets, and virtually any width you want.

They're made by Wheel Vintiques.

They were only on ramchargers.
Summit Racing has oe steel 15x8 by Wheel Vintiques for 85.95 ea plus 12.00 handling.
Moparts member Cab Burge has a pair on here as well, you might try contacting him.

AFAIK, only Ramchargers with the 10.00x15 tire option had the 8"x15" wheels. I've always heard it referred to as the Ramcharger wheel but it should have been available on W100 at the same time. It's always been a hard to find wheel.
2wd bolt pattern went from 4.5 to 5.5 in '85.
4wd went from 5.5 to 4.5 in '75, then back to 5.5 in (I think)'80.

SuperCoupe 15x8" (cop style) rims, or 15x8" Ramcharger rims. Those are your options. You will find neither in a junkyard, unless you are literally the ONLY Mopar guy within 500 miles and have been asleep for 20 years.

I think you'd be better off just buying some new 15x8" steel rims from one ov the few vendors out there that make Mopar rims. I also think this would end up being cheaper than if you found some Ramcharger rims for sale somewhere. Last i checked they were NOT cheap rims to buy, and last i checked was a long time (and a lot ov crushed/recycled rims) ago...

'85 IIRC, but 70's dodge trucks will have 15x6 or 15x6.5 rims

5th ave's and diplomats have 15x7's

As others have said, Ramcharger wheels are what you're looking for. When I see them at swap meets they are generally $100 each. For a few $$ more, Wheel Vintiques might be a better choice than old rims.

Be aware - Ramcharger wheels are HEAVY!

I don't thnik any Ford wheels will fit the later 'small' 9" hubcaps.

Super Coupe rims don't have hubcap nibs, they fit centercaps only. Same for teh 15x7 Magnum GT wheel.

I have been off Moparts for about a week and I find this thread. You are too kind , thanks....

Yes I have some 15 x 8 Ramcharger wheels for sale. I have some orginal wheels with the 4.25 backspace and some repop wheels with a 4.50 backspace. The 4.50 backspace works well on B and E bodies where as the 4.25 works well on A bodies that have been converted.
Some of the earlier B bodies like even more backspace , but I don't have any of those in stock at the moment.

PM me for more info.....

Frank

Don't forget Jeep wheels, but I don't think they had a 15x8 steel wheel. Lots of alloy options though.
AND, they're hub centric!

As far as i've seen in my lengthy tenure climbing over mountains ov rims and sifting though warehouses ov wheels looking for cool/cheap stuff, there is no such animal as a 15x8 Jeep rim. Though it would be nice if someone here would prove me wrong... We need more welfare 8" rim options for Mopars.
