I have a late '60's Dana 60. I switched over to a 1350 yoke, tightend up the pinion nut to about 250 ftlbs and it locked up the rearend. I loosened it back up, and it spins fine. I tightened the nut back up until there was some drag on it when it turned and put the car back together. I think the nut backed off a bit as I'm getting a vibration on the freeway that seems to be getting stronger. I'm pulling it apart this morning to verify that the nut has loosened up. The yoke & new nut was the only thing I changed.
1970 Plymouth 'Cuda #'s 440-6(block in storage)currently 493" 6 pack, Shaker, 5 speed Passon, 4.10's 1968 Plymouth Barracuda Convertible 408 Magnum EFI with 4 speed automatic overdrive, 3800 stall lock-up converter and 4.30's (closest thing to an automatic 5 speed going)

OK, so I take the thing back off, put it back on....same thing. Take it off again, clean the oil off the threads with carb cleaner, loctite red it, start torqueing it down; and am able to put 250 ft lbs on it and now it spins freely albiet with a slight drag just like it is supposed to. Go figure.

I saw that, but mine would not turn after I tried it the first few times. Then it worked like the thread says on the third try? Must have been a charm.
