Hi guys.

Before Iam going to boost my R5/P7 in future I`d like to trie make some decent power with our team van 318cid motor and get know better all this turbo stuff. This motor is not long time ago refreshed - new rod and main bearings, new cam bearings, new timing kit, new distributor, new FBO A-688 ignition, new Lunati cam and lifters ( 213/220@.050" , 112 degree lobe, 0.454/0.475 intake/exhaust valve lift, 1000-5500 RPM-s ), new gaskets etc.
Intake is some old Holley Street dominator with 600cfm Holley carb and also I installed headers there ( couple header tubes needed to cut and weld in different angle to fit )
Pistons, rods and crank are stock. No idea about CR, but I belive around 8-8.5

I have no idea what power motor makes right now...maybe some 220-250hp as naturally aspirated, so if I can get 300-350hp out of it with little boost I`l be more than glad. Van drives almost whole year so mainly I`d like to get this motor work well not to get some serious power out of it.
I`d like to hear what you guys suggest, what parts ( what turbo, how much boost, what size BOV etc. )As I live in Europa, I can have Audi,BMW or some Japan car turbo more easely if you are able to suggest something from there
Do my curved distributor and FBO A688 ignition http://www.4secondsflat.com/a688specs.html work with small boost etc.
Transmission is rebuilded TF904 and converter is stock

Thanks a lot!
Georg

I thought myself to use some bigger diesel motor turbocharger, like( Dodge Ram )Cummins one to avoid excessive heat in motor? I know that its done before
What you guys think? Also what size carb you suggest?

Thanks
Georg

Visit the Mopar-specific section, too. 29 pages, and unlike this Roots-Procharger-NOS-turbo section, it's turbo-specific.

what i see most use around here is scania turbos from big trucks but they are kind of at a slightly higher powerlevel compared to what you are looking for

No will not work. Get a mechanical secondary cark like a 650 or 600.

11.67@118 1.88 60' with only 7-8 lbs of boost. Turbocharged, megasquirted, 407 BB, 440 source heads, roller cam, 9:1 comp. http://s292.photobucket.com/albums/mm14/beansgracie

Well im not shure if you have seen my 68 Belvedere post but this is what i have and let me tell ya it really rips for what it is.

(((stock))) 383 280 .480 juce compcam

800 Holley modded myself for blow threw and E85

Torker intake

Mallory dual point locked out at 30*

solid wire core Taylors

NGK no10s

set of 304 stainless shortys with 2.5 pipe connecting together to my turbo

GT45 Y2004K 1.05 A/R Turbo, new from Ebay $300.00, yea I know you have herd of the crap ebay has and you dont want to run it because its all junk but if you get the 1.05 A/R turbo it seems to be the good one.

No intercooler.

Ill Tell ya I have and a few of my friends beat the H*LL out of this thing and have had 0 problems.

A 60mm wastegate also from Ebay 0 problems

A 53mm BOV Ebay working flawless

it will go 20+psi I usually run 13-16 for safety.

the only problem I have had was my mechanical fuel pump couldnt keep up after more than a few test runs.

BG 220 solved the problem, I also ran a bigger line.

1968 Belvedere

727 colum shift with a trans go comp kit

3500 10" stall

3.91 gears

a set of now shot 29/9 Goodyear slicks

Two of them might work but I'd be really concerned with getting exhaust out of that thing.
