Starting a rebuild of a 65 Fury Convertable with a 383B engine. But I've got a question about the heads. There's two intake ports on each end, but there's a hole in the head in the middle that doesn't match the intake. Is there supposed to be some seal over it, etc?

That is a port to allow heat to escape from the hot exh passage that runs thru the intake , it's supposed to be open and exposed .

Thanks. I've just never seen that on a head before, and with the issues we've had with this resto (got someone else's project), especially the engine, just had to ask.

It's typical of factory cast iron mopar wedge heads, both big and small block.
