Just got done pulling the engine out of the duster and before the new one goes in I want to notch/modify the k-frame so it's much easier putting it in with this moroso oil pan with the bellhousing attached. I have heard that there used to be instructions from either Moroso or Milodon for doing this but can't remember which had the big issue. I know this Moroso pan is a major PITA to get installed with the blowproof connected. I figure if I notch the heck out of the k-frame it'll be much easier to install.
Anyone have pics of what they have done on theirs to allow easier access to install engine with bellhousing attached?

Wow, lots of different ways I guess. I was only planning on notching a bit out of it by getting rid of that lip and then a small part of the top where the pan always hits.

Looks sweet. Got any more pics of the rack set-up? Did you use the stock steering arms? What kind of rack?
forget that last part, I see your steering is on the wrong side.

I recall something on where to cut the k but I thought it was in a magazine, anyway I did mine that way and it does give more clearance but if I did it again I would cut from the steering box flat area forward , cut the other side the same width and put a bent pipe in between .When I did mine I used 11 gage { 1/8" ] x 4" flat stock, welded in to the cut out area and ground off what was left sticking up/ down. Should have cut the drivers side wider as the pan is about 1/8" from the k.
it's ok to butt heads, just don't do it with a butthead

nice work! I just did what Andy recommended and I think I'll have plenty of clearance. it was just a pita getting the pan to clear that second lip.
