I am in the middle of a protracted resto(that's a new one eh?)
and I go to put my oil pump back on the engine after a several month hiatus and paint job. I looked everywhere and can't find the bolts. Everything(almost!) had been bagged and tagged, I thought. I am looking for the specific dimensions on the bolts I will need to replace them with, OR if someone sells them new (besides RT Specialties who has good stuff but their website is one I don't find intuitive). I think a nice gent named Bill Alpin used to be on here and might know. I may also be looking for a new set of oil pan bolts(yes I HAVE them but they are a bit mangled). Can someone lend a 'bonehead' like me a hand on this, please? Thanks!

Check out Bill Rolick. He had a bunch of stuff I was missing. I guarantee you will find the old stuff when the new arrives!!
BTW are you putting the old pump on or a standard? If you went to a High Volume you will need longer bolts!
Hope this helps!!
Chuck
BTW where are you in Ohio??

Thanks! For sure that is my luck too!!
It's what was on it(the pump) with about 200 miles of use. It's a Milodon high pressure.

no not really other than use a good grade and the correct length depending on whether you have a hi volume pump or not .

Use the stock bolts on an aftermarket HV and you'll come up short...

I use Grade 8 bolts that are 3/8 USS or Coarse thread with a washer. just measure the pump where each bolt goes and add 3/4 to 1 inch to the length. They need a 3/8 USS washer on them so they do not dig into the pump housing. 3 bolts will be the same and one will be longer.

Is this also true for a small block?

No, small blocks mount differently. The bolts do not go thru the pump like B/RB engines. They just go thru a flange on the base of the pump into the main cap
