DemonDust OP master Joined: Feb 2005 Posts: 5,207 Menomonee Falls	My mini starter has a bolt directly on top(pic below)of the pinion gear housing (i think that's what you would call it). With my 904 trans this bolt boss is hitting the block. Are there any mini starters that don't have the bolt here? If its not much, can you either grind the head of the bolt down some, or relieve the block or both? If its hitting on the side of the bolt head, maybe replace the bolt with 12 point head bolt? Now i just hope I ground out enough. I guess I'll find out once the trans is in. I mocked the trans up on a different block I had and made some templates to lay out some marks on the engine in the car.
