Anyone running Torque Thrust wheels at the track? If so what lug nuts are you using? Open end? Any one know if they fit over 5/8 studs for the rear?
Thanks.

A few guys were running them.It depends how fast you are going.I run long studs and open ends on my wheels as does my kid.Ive seen lots of mostly stock type cars run standard lugs.I dont believe the 5/8s will fit unless you open the holes. That and you have to drill the axles also to use them.Just make sure you use the proper lug nuts for the wheel.Rocky

It seems like on my TT, Moser drilled and tapped 5/8" into my axles, but on a 5" BC, and the studs were 5/8" with an 11/16" shank, and they fit pretty snug on the rims, but I don't think a 4.5" BC would work well with the larger studs. Not sure. ( )
Reality check, that half the population is smarter then 50% of the people and it's a constantly contested fact.

Jeff the 1/2" studs will just fit on a 4.5" BC I had to go with 3/4 hex on the nuts because because 13/16 sockets were just to large and the socket would gouge the center of the wheel. I wanted to go with the 5/8" drive studs but you will need to have someone make a spacer with a small enough O.D.so you can fit the large nuts past the rim center. You almost HAVE go with a 5 on 5 bolt pattern to get a 5/8" stud and nut to work Gus

I'm the guy Doug knows with the 5/8" studs on 4 1/2" bolt circle. I'll post the info. after I measure everything at my shop this weekend. It is really easy and worked well, But I would change 1 thing if you don't have the wheels yet. I did this to Torque Thrust "D"'s. Don't know about other models. Excuse my typing, I'm new at this posting stuff.
Your first post, now you'll be hooked like me. Doug

Here's what I did to my torque thrust "D" 's on my nostalgia S/S car that runs 9.60's: Redrilled the holes using a 21/32" bit. Used the existing taper to center the bit. Used a metric M-16 washer (hardened DIN 125A, which is larger than a standand M-16, O.D. wise)in the recess and used a 5/8 x18 hex nut as a lug. Reduced the O.D. of a 6 point deep well 15/16" socket to fit the recess lug hole and torqued to 65 ft. lbs.( ground on a bench grinder, don't need much) Did this to 2 sets 12 years ago and used to check them all the time. Now I check them once a weekend. In 12 years, I never had one loosen up.
