Hello. What motor mounts are best for a high torque motor? 69 GTX, 4 speed, 500 inch 440. Engine should make about 600 pounds of torque. Engine needs to be in stock position to fit air grabber. What do you use? Thanks

I used the Solid steel Moroso ones on the Challenger here in my Avatar. You may get too much vibration out of them on the street but they will not break or fail!

I run a morroso steel mount on the drivers side with a big 5/8 inch
bolt/thead size bolt through the big hole in the k frame .
i got the bolt at ace hard ware for a couple of bucks .
the bolt is the best way to keep the engine from moving , because it will shift with stock bolt.
just run a stock rubber mount on passinger side and a poly trans mount .
This works great some vibration but not bad i drive the car all summer like this and i dont mind the extra vibration .
your friends will think the car is even more bad a$$ then it is because it make the car feel faster .
my set up is almost the same as yours 493 hemi 4sp 410 gear 69 charger with 70 pistol grip conslole shifter .
Hope this helps Cj

I made this mod to my stock rubber mounts for about $20 including the countersink tool.

Why do I torture myself so?

Motor Mounts

The dodgecharger.com link was going to the home page so I posted again; let's see if it works. I used the same 2-bolts through the mount. Started with hex bolts and ended up with a countersunk metric bolts and nylocks because I could not find a countersunk grade 8 anywhere, online, hardware stores, fastenal, etc.

I have what's leftover from a box of 25 if anyone wants a pair.

I run almost the same setup minus the poly trans Mount. Mine is 70 Charger RT with 512RB and 4spd. Has some vibration but I think it is fine for the street.

I did have solid mounts on both sides but it was too much vibration for summer cruising.

These feel like solid and you will hear it in the car. Trust me I had them on the car for an hour and took them off. Not sure if this is a race application, if not use the Magnum mounts from Mancini. They are between stock and poly. They have a lock out on them.

I use a solid on the drivers side and stock one on the pass side and trans,no vibration at all.But i would guess if you had a engine that wasnt balanced real well you would feel it.

Another motor mount option similar to your system is available from DynaTech Engineering in Chelsea, AL. They refer to them as "MityMounts". That's what I installed in my car and so far so good.

This is my normal response EVERY time this question comes up. It will never break and the stock side doesn't make it have any vibrations. Cheap and easy...

Polylock on drivers side, Stock on passenger. I too tried the polys on both sides for about an hour. BUZZ city. Replaced the pass with stock and eliminated 90% of the vibration.
Schumacher doesn;t sell them individually (wonder why??? )
If your interested I'll sell you my extra for my cost ($80 shipped to your door.) 440 biscuit style.
PM if interested.
