My question is, do you paint the manifolds cast grey before they get painted with the orange paint or do you just clean them, bead blast them and install as is, then apply the engine paint. Thanks

That way the orange paint will burn off and the manifolds will NEVER rust. I've done about 5 sets this way now with good results. On my car I just went with the orange paint and now they look like rusty crap. *CHECK OUT MY NEW WEB SITE !*

I'll ask who and where when I talk to him , probably wednesday afternoon sometime

This is the way the customer wanted it....The shield was painted with BBQ paint first, not sure how long that will last. Joined: May 2005 Posts: 639 Wilmington, NC	If you get past the original cost, Jet-Hot or similar ceramic is by far the way to go , and they come in all different colors. Anything that says "paint" on it will look like crap after a while, even the so called manifold paints like POR...
