this has got me stumpped.pulled the motor out of my street car sent the heads to Dwayne, gotem back witha a new cam and got it all together and mounted to my run stand.still same dizzy but a diff 6AL would not run good finally the box went poof, but i had a brand new spare, same dang thing.so several people including Dwayne said switch the wires, from the factory they could be wired wrong,BINGO it fired right up.now fast forward.motors installed go to fire itNO DICE,switch the wires and bingo it runs great.now after all that heres my question,it has to be the wires on the dizzy but how did it change? i never even removed the cap or plug wires and the box in the car is thesame box ive had for seven years and it always pluged in right.

A difference in timing... my understanding is the dist wires... one way it senses on the leading edge, wire it the other way it senses the trailing edge so if the timing was different it wanted to fire off way late

Any new wire harness between box and distributor...?? I know this is a common problem with MSD components. They need to look hard at their employees' eye tests, SOMEONE down there is 'color blind'!!! I have seen this numerous times,,took alot of 'heat' from people who insist that it makes NO difference,,,,but,, more are finding out it DOES!

i understand about the factory wires being backwards.but this has been runnin 7 years hooked up with the stock connectors.i had to shave the corners of the male end to reverse the wires.
LOL... most of us just cut the wires swap them and use solder and shrink tubing.... because NOW you can put it in in either direction
