Well your 72 isn't routed properly.... See the plastic loop taped to the harness? it should be attached to a clip on the left side up high on the trunk jamb..., the wires route over the wheelhouse the along the top edge of the trunk.. It drops down along the outside of the left tail light & passes across the bottom of the tail panel... Fact is if you look at the first picture you'll see the tab under the trunk jamb...

Although I'm not 100% sure it's exactly OE . It's an MH harness and this is the best way to route it , where it fits.

That's how my original harness routes also!

Does anyone have any pictures of how the "additional" ground wire routes for the rear side markers and tail lights?

Here is a shot of the wiring fwd of the wheel well. Is this correct to route around the gusset?

Yah, but your missing a little bracket to retain the harness on the gusset.

Right on Thanks that looks like just one of those rubber coated retention straps screwed to the gusset

You have some great schematics? What manuals are these from? I have several chassis and body service manuals but no sketches like these. I believe these are the type of manuals I really need for my wiring installations.
Thanks

They are factory assembly drawings. I managed to get a few from a popular Mopar site before Chrysler made them pull them. Faxon is suppose to offer a bound collection of the prints, but I haven't seen any progress. I would contact them and see when they plan to publish copies.

Faxon does offer a collection of engine manuals for 1969 cars.

Yes, hopefully Faxon will get those done, I'd love to have a full set. It's supposed to include diagrams that we haven't seen yet.

Thanks for posting those Snoopy. I especially like the ground wire diagram. Been awhile since I saw that one.

Happy New Year!

Added the retention brkt and attached it to the gusset. Just used pull rivets. On the harness I have a trunk light which attaches to the tail light harness and then it hooks into the dome light.
