This is real similar to my 499 other then mine has stage v1 heads and 12.5-1 compression and my cam is 272/275 @ 50 with .620 lift and a 1050 dominator. I think mine makes around 620 h.p. E.T. in sig. car weighs 3740. 8" 5000 converter.3.91's 28" tires

I love yellow! I'm currently putting my 69 Charger back together with a similar combo. I would love to see more pic's pretty please and some more info on the car itself. Here is my combo currently going together: 505 '77 440 block .030 over RPM crank 4.25 K-1 6.8 Rods Probe 20 cc inverted dome pistons Indy Lil EZ 295cc heads worked over by Compuflow Solid Roller spec'd by Compuflow Indy 2-D prepped by Compuflow. Nick said it should come in at about 10.8:1 compression. I was shooting for 620-650 horses. Guess I'll have to wait and see.

Im NO expert but I dont think you can make over 600hp with that compression and that big cam. Bump that compression up and then I can see it.
Im SURE ill hear alot of negativity!!!! LOL
I dont think so either... with the static and dynamic being low... about 575-580.... JMO

Your car looks great. The biggest problem I see is that you didn't post anymore pic's, especially with the hood closed. Did you post on DodgeCharger dot com?

i can only relay what i'd expect it to make on the dyno i use, which has been extremely close when compared to MPH at the track. your likely to make between 550-565 honest HP IMO. that's a small cam with unported heads but yet a ported intake. i'm not too concerned about the C/R or the carb, that's a pretty typical street type build for pump gas. in the end it makes whatever it makes. if it runs good enough for you, then it makes all it needs to make regardless of the actual number. run it down the 1/4 mile once or twice and you'll pretty much know what it really makes.

With a roller and decently flowing SR's I would think you could be in the 630 range pretty easy If the heads are only 'touched up" I'd say right at 590-600. But it doesn't really take much to get an SR well over a comparably prepped E-head and 10.88 is decent enough and would work well with that roller, you've got a lot of the right parts there to make over 600. It's a swag without the headflow numbers but I'm thinking if you have a 2.19" intake you could be flowing about 310 at .550 (they'll go about 285 OOTB IIRC). A 252 intake lobe seems small seat to seat but your .200-up durations should be better than a ~265 @.050 solid flat tappet which would certainly support a 600 hp motor like I would build it anyway. Beautiful car by the way. I know yellow is a tough color to photograph accurately.... I'm sure it's eye-popping in person!!

Nice car. Why such low compression? Do you burn a lot of fuel every month or something?
1970 Plymouth 'Cuda #'s 440-6(block in storage)currently 493" 6 pack, Shaker, 5 speed Passon, 4.10's 1968 Plymouth Barracuda Convertible 408 Magnum EFI with 4 speed automatic overdrive, 3800 stall lock-up converter and 4.30's (closest thing to an automatic 5 speed going)

Thanks for all the kind words it has been a project of mine for the past 4 years . No i have not had it on dodge charger.com I don't know how to post a picture i have tried many times a year or so ago and my file pictures are to big i guess so i gave up not that good with computers . The car was built by my own two hands paint body and mechanical done in the home garage , its not a jackson car just a nice weakend street /strip car. Oh yea i just wanted to burn pump gas for easy sake .so that is why i went light on compression . But the cranking compression of the engine is 200-205 psi and remember it has .o40 quench with zero deck (very crisp response )!
It has many good mods to it , where to begin Well it was an original 318 car with auto on the column . I always wanted 440 car so i built one . I always believed a hot rod has to be stick shift so i converted it to a 1970 hemi 4sp pistol grip with the best looking mopar setup on to ever come from a auto manufacture 70 pistol grip console shifter !18 spline trans Dual friction clutch , Chrome molly drive shaft , Billet steel yoke ,4:10 with Detroit locker and moser axles with rear wildwood setup on the rear brakes . The front brakes are the viper gen 1 kit from AR. The front end has been stiffened ,by welding and gusseting up the k member ,. Firm feel 2 power steering box with firm feel tubular upper control arms &boxed lowers , with firm feel sway bar. I run a steel left side motor mount to hold it down with a 5/8 bolt. The car has 17 inch wheels front and rear front tires are 215/60R17 and rears are 345/45r17 M/H drag radials . Full 3inch TTI exhaust with x pipe and 50 series delta flow flow masters only because i like flow master sound ! Thats about it she is really fast on the street and handles real well ! I plan on getting to the track this spring to see what she will do but not that worried i think i can get her into the 11s if i drive good . I will try to post more pics if i can figur out how to resize them . Cj.
