What sort of life can I expect out of a pair? They would make approx. 35 passes a year, and see about 1000 street miles a year. Will they give me at least a few years at that rate?

The reason I ask is that I'm trying to decide whether or not I should just sell off the current Dunlop GT Qualifiers, or keep them for street duty and just use the ET-Radials for strip only. (???)

My buddy in his pick up ran them this past drag week,
he put on almost 1200 miles and about 45 passes
and the tire is 3/4 gone... he'll have to get another
set for this coming year but this time we are changing
to a street tire for the road to get them to live

from what i read about 1,500 to 3K miles, I to was in the same boat needing rear tires, i decided why spend $100 for a street tire when for another $50 i could get a drag radial, way better traction, it it will last just as long as a street tire driven hard, my bfg t/a were shot with about 8K. i went with the Nittos they are said to last longer about 12 to 15K but some say they don't hook as hard. i wasn't going for the last tenth.

Buy the ET Street bias ply for the street, they last a lot longer and hook better on the street than the ET radials do , at least on my car they do

From my experience (and my driving style ), you MIGHT be lucky to get 2 full years of use. I figure more like 1 and change before having to put fresh meats on.

yep but they are also even worse in heavy rain if you have a spool.
the real ET Streets are alot more forgiving when "trackprep" is nonexisten or bad also

however the dragradials drives alot better on bad roads

I've tried Nitto's, BFG's and MT ET's on the street. The Nitto's are the best on the street but the worst on the track. BFG's and MT ET's are dangerous on the street if it's wet and neither of them lasted more than about 2000 miles. I'm done with drag radials, now using a decent treaded street tyre and slicks for the track next year.

235 OR 255/60/15's I've run them both. I get ~125 passes and roughly 1500-2000 street miles. 50 miles round trip to pacific that I do 20+ times a year. Drive the car to work a few times per week (26 miles round trip), anywhere I want really rain or shine. My car 60 foots about 1.69 at pacific on a normal pass.

Call me lazy, I don't want to swap tires. You shouldn't have an issue getting multiple years from a set.

I've been quite happy with my MT Street Radials. They hook surprisingly well on the street. On my traction challenged truck they hook about 5X as well as "normal" street tires. I've got roughly 1,500 miles on mine and it looks like I may be able to get another 1,000 out of them. I have only driven with them once in the rain and they didn't do anything unexpected - but then I was also being very conservative with them in the rain also.

They won't last as long with a spool, it scrubs the tire and the side wall doesn't give like a slick.

Expect 1 to 2 years. A lot depends on how much of a burnout you do at the track. I do a long burnout. You can see where all the rubber went. In my wheel wells

From my experience, that's about when I'd start looking to see how close they are to needing replacement.

When I could not find the size drag radial I wanted (30 x 9) I got disgusted and just bought radial slicks that are Hoosier's 30 x 9's. I like that size because I wanted atleast a 30" tall tire and I can fit wider in my stock wheelwell but the 9's never rub not even on hard turns. I decided to drive to the track on the radial slicks and then raced on them and drove home. I was surprised how good they handle on the street and since I have a radial tire up front the car handles great with the radial slicks driving normal so I left them on the car and have driven over 2 years on them. I got caught in the rain twice and I had no problems driving real easy and I do have a detroit locker. I have only raced once this year and they hooked great as of course I drove to the track and it hooked good enough to run 10.76 three passes in a row. I dont wory about if it hooks on the street as I dont street race. I plan to go back to a drag radial if they ever make the size I want. Ron

I have about 1500 miles on my ET street radials and maybe 50-60 passes on them and I'm looking to replace them this year.
I'm looking at M&H tires this time around like this one http://www.mandhtires.com/M-H-Racemaster-Cheater-Slicks/28-12.5-15LT#.UpJE-H0o7bU
I've used M&H cheaters before and I liked them

Its not a big deal but now curious minds want to know how long they lasted.

Those M&H tires used to be made in Gardner,Mass.
