Friend of mine wants to get a set of Repop Rallye wheels for his Road Runner and had read where some guys had gotten them and they were warped from the "dealer". What do you guys recommend? I think he is upgrading to 15x8"

Yep that is a good question , I am interested to hear what is said. Yes the color is not the same as the orginal color of the wheels. So order yours bare and spend the money to get them blasted and painted correctly. The wheels can be orderd bare , at least from me they can, no problem. As far as being straight , most are within factory tolerances , and those are pretty loose. The Wheel Guy Midwest Vendor for Specialty Wheels.

I've had no issuses with the 15X7 or 15X8 Wheel Vintiques Ralleys that I have on several cars, no problem attaching either 70 or 71 trim rings, repros or originals, plus the welds on the back side are "cleaner" in appearance, and finish/fit,...esp when using large rotor, or rear disc brakes, such as SSBC rotors, factory 15X7's that I have used, often need the welds dressed down to avoid hitting/jambing on the calipers,....my only complaint with Wheels Vintiques is I wish they would get the Ralley Silver" color correct, ...the current powdercoat is too gray

This is the kind of feedback and info. I'm looking for. Thanks for taking time to post guys. BTW, that stinks about the YO wheels. That's a problem for a lot of us who take several years to so a project. You buy a piece or part and stick it away only to find out later it doesn't fit, it's wrong etc. Joe

Mine are steelies, not rallyes but my Wheel Vintiques that I bought through Summit were badly out of balance. They required multiple weights and the tire store said they'd vibrate above 60mph. Of course I didn't find out until after getting them shipped from the US and getting them sprayed body color so I'm going to use them and hope for the best. Emails to Summit went unanswered. The wheels have been one of the most disappointing aspects of the resto to date. Dave

Summit is usually very good about customer service. Did you call them?
Were your rims out of round, did they have a lot of runout, or did the tire and rim assembly just require a lot of weight to balance? Did they try repositioning the tires on the rims?

I don't know about rallyes, but I have purchased two sets of the Chrome Magmun 500 replacement Wheel Vintiques. What a diappointment. First, I could barely get them to balance. They look like they wobble on the balance machine. Then ..... I coated them with protectant over the first winter and in the spring they had rust comming out. Stored in a dry, non-climate controlled garage. Pits.... I called Summit. They said call Wheel Vintiques. I called them. They more or less said sorry bud, the 30 day warranty is up. We will sell you new ones if you wish. I was and still am so disappointed.
Love them 68 MOPARS! GTS 340 auto, Charger R/T 440 4-speed, Superbee 383 auto, GTX 440 auto, D100 (new front frame 5.7 hemi - in process), Formula S 340 4-Speed A/C (it's green), 383 auto Roadrunner (maybe a hemi - waiting) and a 68 W200 Power Wagon. Drivers: 07 Cummins and 14 Ecodiesel 4x4.

Hi Joe Several years back I ordered a set of 15x7 rallyes for my 'cuda from Year One. When I receied them from Year One, they were in Wheel Vintiques boxes. All mounted and balanced fine with the wheel weights on the back side. After mounting the new tires, I discovered that one wheel had a pinhole in the weld and leaked air... manufacture defect. I removed the new tire and returned the wheel to Year One for a replacement. Year One has a very good return policy. Replacement wheel also arrived in a Wheel Vintiques box and the tire mounted and balanced fine. About a month later a had a shop rebuild the rear end, and they left the lug nuts loose on one of the wheels, Ovaling the mounting holes within a mile of leaving the shop. The shop was good about it and offered to pay for a new wheel, all I had to do was bring them the receipt for my new wheel. I ordered my new wheel directly from Wheel Vintiques. It was quite a bit cheaper than Year One. It matched the other wheels perfectly, and mounted & balanced the same also. Year One has a good return policy, but you pay for it with the higher prices. Original (used) wheels also have their problems, scuffs, bent rims, & ovaled holes. Tav

I don`t understand why more people are not having issues with mounting "true" 15x7 trim rings on Wheel Vintiques 15x7 rallyes. The front offset is wrong.. stock BS is 4.25 which it is ..But the rim is actually narrower now. By time the trim rim is nearing the catch area, the edge of the trim ring hits the center portion and therefore won`t let the ring fully seat .I sent two back to Summit and gave up !!

This reminds me of a guy at the Don Garlits show a few weeks ago that said he ordered his 15x7 trim rings from Summit. The Summit trim rings were cheaper than Mopar trim rings, but he had to trim the inside lip on every trim ring to get it to fit down onto his rallye's. The Summit rings were bottoming out on the wheel center as you described.
Are you sure your trim rings aren't GM or Ford or something?
