Never run one, dont think I have heard one run/idle. I have had about every other MP cam from time to time. Project needs to idle good, and have good street manner's. I hear the sound maybe just A have a hair more lope than say a Resto Magnum or 6 pack cam.

I had one back in the early 80's. It's a mild cam, should work good in a street car. It idles about like a Comp. Cams 270 magnum. It's just big enought to sound like you have a cam. You won't have to have a stall conveter or steep gears to run it.

Ran one in a 340 Dart years ago and I loved it. It was a stock 340 and internally the 280/474 cam and valve springs were the only change. Had an old Eddy dual plane intake and a 650 DP Holley carb. Also had headers and 2.5 exh system. It was a totally stock 904 auto that was behind a stock 318 and I just swapped it in when we took out the 4-speed. Oh and it had 4.10's with G60-15's. It ran great and had real good low end. It ran 13.49 @ 105 nursing it out of the hole as it would fry them street tires and this was back in 1980 so there was no drag radials to use back then. I feel very sure with the 105 mph it would run easy 12's with slicks and a good converter. And it idled just right with a bit of lobe to it. Ron

I run one in my 74 Challenger also. 440 with RPM manifold,750 tweaked Holley and stock HP manifolds. Its very street friendly, has a nice lope and decent power. My car only runs 14.50's but I think the manifolds and H pipe are the culprits.
416 stroker from Nick at Compu-flow. 11.14 in full street trim. Seems like a new best every time out. 11.06 open headers----so far!!

I dont mind the lopey idle. Im looking at a near stock converter, 3.23 gears, I want a cam that doesnt affect fuel mileage as much. You think this cam will be ok?

A couple years ago, we used the Comp version in a customer's 440+.030 E-head build. Reused his Edelbrock single plane with the Eddy carb, 1 7/8" headers, stock converter and 3.23 gears in a B body.
I wasn't crazy about using the Eddy carb, but the thing starts warm with just a touch of the key and WOT at a dead idle gives tire smoke like you'd expect from a stroker engine.
It has a great drive-in lope, to boot. I think you'd be happy with it in your combo.

I have tried many of the mopar grinds in both street and race cars. I often think that I want to add more cam to my street car,...then I take it for a ride and wonder why that crazy thought even entered my head. It is just a very sweet, forgiving, torquey cam, with a very nice idle that has just enough of a lopey chop.
This same cam has been in 4 different 440 motors with me. I have had compression as low as 8, and as high as 11:1, stock converter to 3500 stall, dual plane, single plane, headers, stock exhaust manifolds, stock iron heads to aluminum eddys, etc.
It always puts a smile on my face, and most prople think there is something much wilder as a cam in the motor.
I am never done with tuning an engine. The last outing at the track netted 12.2 at 111.9 at almost 4,000 lbs. That was with a factory 2400 high stall and too much gear (4.10). A 3.50 to 3.90 would be perfect, but a 3.23 makes it a joy to drive anywhere, (and still run a solid mid 12 driving to and from the track). This motor is only 9.3:1, has ootb eddy heads, tti headers, full exhaust, 750 hp dp carb.
Bonus: runs on 87 octane and if you can keep your foot out of it, the fuel economy is surprisingly good for a big block. 15 mpg at highway speeds with a 3.23/ 275 60 15 tire.

Too many cars, too many parts, too little coin, too little space to work in, too little time left to make it all happen!
Update: down to one ride, still too many parts, a little more jingle in the pocket, gaining space, and it's going to happen this year!

Good Info Guys But I was afraid it would be just too much for fuel economy. I went with the Magnum 270H cam. I figured this cam will idle better and make just as much if not more power.
