Adding the US Car Tool Frame connectors plus other braces

Not trying to be critical, but I have a suggestion, if not just for future reference.

I think I would have had all the sandblasting done before welding the connectors and anything else in.
After blasting, you can use a "weld-through" primer on the captured areas that would be covered by the frame connectors. This way, it would not only improve the quality of the weld, it would prevent corrosion in the areas that are boxed in. Corrosion inhibitor could also be sprayed in through the gas discharge holes in the connector as well, but needs a clean surface to adhere to.

Welding on a corroded or dirty surface will cause the shielding gas contamination that perpetuates imperfections in the weld.

Your not being critical, but your misinformed . Look at the beginning of the build thread, everything has been blasted and epoxy primed other than the outer body before any welding started.

I see. I thought I was seeing quite a bit of structure work before the body was blasted. Those areas must have been done previously then.

This picture shows where it was blasted and had weld thru primer when we welded in the frame connectors. I do this on all my cars. I also made sure this was done while the car on full suspension on a drive on lift.

I created a little more space under the hood without these. The Coil overs the RMS Alterkation don't require the shock towers anyhow..

When did I miss the quarter panels being bad? Did cancer appear after media blasting?

Not too long ago quarter skins were the only option for our cars, many were installed incorrectly like the ones on my car. Full quarter panels saves on welding and body work. Since the car is going to be black , I also wanted to get rid of the welded body seam line so I dont get that dreaded ghost line that shows up when the sun shines on it. Another advantage is that I was able to blast in the areas I could not reach with the quarter panels on.
