Just trying to do a little homework in advance. Considering a set of crane golds on my 318, just wondering what the spring pressure limit is before I'm pushing my luck. Thanks!
11.48 @ 120 with a 1.80 60' 318, stock 1.88 heads, stock 904, Pump Gas, 13 lbs of boost.
9.94 @ 134, 318 on pump gas, 14 lbs w/ Eddies, transbrake 727, 3600 lbs, 3.54 gear and 28's.

word on the street is that the quality lately is suspect. i can tell you that i've had the same set in my car for 10+ years and 20,000 miles or so, with a variety of big hydraulic and solid cams, and they're still perfect under the microscope.
for what is the good life if not doing things thoughtfully?

The set I'm considering are several (5+) years old, but brand new in box. I realize this is a relative question, but I figured one of the engine builders would say 5 or maybe 600 lbs would be the limit before looking to jesels or similar. I think for a decent hydraulic or small solid roller I'll be looking at 400+ open, and thought I'd see if there were a consensus on the limit of an aluminum body rocker.

I run the crane golds with a 230lb seat pressure and 600lb open pressure. I have not had one problem with them yet, i do have my fingers crossed though.

I would use those 5 year old Golds, but change the adjusters, as the adjusters seem to be junk!!! Smith Bros makes good ones .
Yes I live in Michigan, so there is still 1 light on
