Just wondering if anyone has had any experience with the Summit Racing aluminum housings? Also on the windage tray is the MP Performance sold okay quality? Do I even need one? Anyways, just building a very mild street 400 big block. TIA.

Windage tray is free HP.Its not a necessity but is worth the $$$.The MP unit has to be modified. The Milidon one is a much better piece.I bought the MP and only used the gaskets.I installed the Milidon on my 440.It sees 7000 RPm all the time.Been together street driving for 3 years.Rocky

What he said , the MP tray returns the oil back to the pan slower , the milodon is a better piece.

Thanks guys that confirms my concerns on the windage tray. Anyways, anyone know the quality of said aluminum water pump housing? Thanks in advance. Also, when removing the oil pan I'm assumming this also means I need to replace the front and rear main seals right? Sorry for the crazy question but, this is my 1st engine I am getting more hands on with.

The front main seal is on the timing cover housing. Removal of the oil pan gives you access to the rear main seal cap but you don't HAVE to replace it when you pull the oil pan.

I run the MP windage tray, however I drilled a bunch of extra holes in it to aid in oil return kinda like the milodon pan.
