What would you guys reccomend? 69 b-body 383 4-speed 4:10 gear 13.04 @110 with a street radial 285/70r15(spinning badly)(31" tall tire) Now my current tire is a 275/60r15 they look a little small back there.(have not ran this size at track)28" tall I have 8 in rims should I run the 370070 (29.0x9.0x15) or the 370280(30.0x09.0x15) I will be buying one of these part numbers so keep it limited to these 2. I'm not a die-hard racer, but would love to see my car run somewhere in the twelves. I know that you should use the tallest tire you can get under there, but I felt that the 285/70r15 radials were too tall! Thanks!
For what you're doing, I would go with a M/T 275 drag radial. I was running 11.70s with a 1.61 short time with that tire in a pump gas, street legal 3500-lb '64 fury. They were pretty consistent unless the track had water coming up through it.

30 x 10.5 W. Very similar in size to the 29.5 x 10.5 M/T 3062. "Tread" is a little wider and the tyre surprisingly took a little more pressure than we usually run. It was around 1 1/2 to 1 1/4 lb more if IIRC. Ran with tubes, still think it could take more pressure maybe upto 14lb. HTH's
I need that same size but I didnt see it listed on the Toyo website. Did they quit making it?
what did you find out on the 30x10.5w toyo and how much is it.

I think they are made in Japan.
The store I found did not have the discount & another Toyo store didn't even list the slicks. I am interested in the 27.5 front tires.

Thanks, but I was looking at these 2 Toyo tires exclusively. I'm a Toyo dealer and this is a smokin' deal,so I'm gonna either get the 29x9x15 or the 30x9x15, Thanks, John
IMO, the 29.0x9.0x15 fits your combination better.

If the bigger tire s will fit, bigger is always better on a slick. To a certian extent, a VW bug does not need 14x32x15 slicks with a VW 1600 CC motor

Put some air in them things EDIT Looks like you could use a anti roll bar also
I tried the air pressure up and down from 7.5 and that seemed to work best. Although as I said at a good track I could probably run more.
I'll agree on the antiroll bar though. I had it leaving nice and level off the foot brake but when I use the transbrake it still leaves like that no matter how much preload I put into the top right bar.

I figured they were. I'll keep buying M/T and Goodyear tires made in the USA. Some Goodyears are not and I won't buy those either.
I guess I must be the last guy in America that doesn't think it's OK to keep buying foreign products while our manufacturing base is being destroyed. This frustrates me to no end.

Thanks for all the replies,I decided on the 29.0x9.0x15 Toyo John
I'm sure all the workers at Goodyear and M/T are delighted with your choice, John.

If I'm correct, Mickey Thompson tyres were being made in England until recently

M/T may have a plant in England but all my M/T have always been stamped MADE IN USA.

Could be that they were made for European market I was told that they were making M/T tyres at the Avon / Cooper tyre factory and it closed very recently. Also I know certain Iron and Aluminium blocks are cast over here, though I'm not saying they will have "Made in USA" on them
