Been driving around for years with the regular bimetal choke coil working half the time. When it gets cold I end up wiring it open.

So I got ahold of a holley 45-225 manual choke kit incorrectly thinking I could use that on a 2300 series like it says it should.

So has anybody ever rigged up manual choke cable on a 6 pack?

I have a manual cable that I ran into the glove box. Can't even see it. Works great

Thanks, I was hoping to see how things were rigged up at the carb. The cable inside isn't really my hangup.

The 45-225 is made for carbs with the round adjustable choke setup, not the old bimetal in the manifold deal like on 6 pack carbs.

I know this is old but anyone have any tips/specialized parts they have used to set up a manual choke on a six pack?

FWIW in this months Hot Rod (June) there is an article where they fix some problems with a six-pack engine. In that article they modify the choke assembly to accept a remote electric choke coil used on 75-79 360's and 400's with the Holley two-barrel. This would be a good idea for someone to make a kit to do this.

If you look closely at the article it appears the intake was substantially modified {as in choke well ground down the side}...This might scare off most as there's no return from that..

Hello Mr yuck! did you every get your motor together? Just kidding as I know this is a old thread.
I was doing some searching on manual choke cable installation on a 6 pack and wondering if you still run that. Or if you could take a picture. '

Or any help from anyone else, as I run edlebrock heads with no heat risers and have my choke wired open. It runs so much better with a choke when cold. Once hot it's great. Thinking a cable is the way to go?

I have 2 other old holly carbs both with manual choke. So figured I could take one choke off and use it on my center 6 pak carb? But it don't look like it'll work like said above.

Anybody been "down this road"?

Thank you, yes it was. Cable not possible on 6 pak. Electric choke sounds like the way to go. Thanks again.
