I like it all but the big dance floor wing. I just wanna crawl up on the trunk and cut a rug.

One day I will have something cool here.

to prevent this kind of thing from happening for the fourth time.

4 Times Maybe you should change the design from a box with flat sides to something more appropriate for a pressure vessel.
Awesome car though. I remember seeing it run at Orlando many years ago. Very impressive.

with the boost from those turbo's it would need to be made from a S.C.U.B.A. tank...

now who's got a picture of a Roadrunner with a turbo inpeller as the scroll (swirly) script..wearing an eye patch and red bandanna?..

With all due respect, from a mechanical engineering perspective, the design could use some improvements, IMHO. I have experience in pressure vessels design and stress load evaluation (aircraft). Aircraft, submarines, soda cans etc are the shape they are for a reason. Just offering some advice.

sure no doubt. realize this is an intake made from a 1970's tunnel ram. It has been sawed down the center into two pieces so it fits a -.500 short deck block. Then it was welded together and then we added the mail box looking plenum . Total cost of parts about $50.00. It has produced 2400 HP. Now after a learning curve the pops and bangs are gone. It does it's job and more unless someone wants to buy a $3,000 custom intake for us. Plus it matches the exotic log exhaust headers

My first thought was, there wasn`t enough legs on the bird for Fred to deal with it

Usually something of the 4 legged varity pops up

Dont you think a burst panel would work better?
Are those blowoff valves referanced to anything ?

a burst panel would hve cost money while the valves were in the shop leftovers or takeoffs.
I think John tried both ways but then modified them to operate like a spring loaded pop off

LOL. I see your point. Low-buck is usually my approach too, on my home project.

I pointed out to Fred the design of pressure vessels when he blew it up last year. From the looks of the mailbox, it wanted to become cylindrical. Fred pointed out the same response and I wasn't interested in contributing to the project in terms of a new plenum. Maybe when I get my mill going, that could change although aluminum isn't cheap.

Mein Gott in Himmel !
I have alway heard that there are two ways to do things.
I think you are inventing a third.
