Due to an out of the block slip up, I am in search of a new cam....don't ask please, I am not to happy with myself. anyway, the old cam was an 11yr old Ultradyne NF64 .620" 271 @ 50, I liked it in the 446". but now its going to 493" and it will have to breath to about 7000 rpm so maybe upgrading isnt so bad. I was happy with the Ultradyne, but I am wondering if the dual pattern hughes may have some advantages. I was thinking the Hughes cam # hug htl8087bs .633" .644" @1.5 280 287 @ 50, may be a good step up. what do you all think? 493" 1050, ported max wedge indy s/rs 1.5 ratio, 10.5 comp, converter will be sent to Lenny for new combo, 4.56 gears and a 3800 lb car, 29x11 tires. Thanks all

Wonder who grinds those "Hughes" cams?

Not sure about the Flat Tappets anymore but I'm pretty sure all of Hughes Hyd Roller stuff are Bullet grinds.
The Hughes Flat Taps that were done by Engle back in the 90's were all really good lobes, I ran a lot of them without complaint.

If you go w/ a Hughes grind, I'd suggest no bigger than the 276/280 because of your low CR.
No idea who actually grinds their flat-tappet cams after they stopped using Engle years ago, though.
