the 440im finishing up for my road runner:
67 440 block, .060 over
factory forged crank .010 under rods and mains, factory balancer and flex plate
reconditioned ly rods w/ arp bolts
kb hyper pistons, 10.4:1 with my heads
906 heads milled .060 72cc chamber 2.14 1.88 valves bowl ported. ports have been cleaned up but no actual porting
cam is a mp .528 solid.
holley sd intake
proform 750 double pumper for now, probably getting an 850 in the future
mp electronic ign, orange box
tti 1 7/8" headers
oil pan in an 8qt mancini pan w/ milodon windage tray.

just wondering what you guys think this motor should be putting out? it was fairly inexpensive to build, which was nice and i think it will be a good street motor for the time being, but i know the major hold back right now are the heads and the carb.

I like it, the heads is one thing you might want to save the money on porting and put a nice set of aluminum ones on it? IMO, the carb is ok, for right now!

What type of tranny, gears, and wheels are you running? Also tell us more about the cam.

It is almost identical to the 440 in my 63. I have a complete stock bottom end with KB quench pistons for my 906 heads so it runs great on pump gas. I have 10.0 comp and I installed the 2.14 and 1.81 valves in my 906's also. It has Hedman 1-3/4 headers with 3" exh. I also use the Holley Street Dominator with an 850 DP and I use the MP .557 cam with Isky nodular iron rockers. I use 4.30's with a 30 x 9 tire and a dynamic 9.5 converter. My 63 weighs 3700 with me and I figure it is making right about 500 flywheel hp by its 11.49 @ 116 best et. You should go easy 12's in a B-body and maybe even low 12's with the right tune and drivetrain combo. Ron

Should be a real nice package. Good power and gentle street manners.

At 10.4 CR, that small cam, and iron heads, you probably won't get away with running straight pump gas

the car is a 71 road runner, right now it has an 8.75 with 3.55's out back, tires are 255 70 r 15's, not all that great.. there is a local guy with a set of 3.91's and 4.56's though.
the trans is a 727, nothing special done to it, and its running a 10inch converter
