I'm stumped. Who makes a correct transmission mount for a 71 Chally? The Anchor Industry mounts are incorrect, the steel they are constructed of is 1/8" and it shoudl be 3/16" thick. What other optiosn are there for a correct resto?

Regretably, the ebay mount is incorrect. The factory mount uses 3/16" steel to form the hat shape that the rubber is installed into. I believe the listed mount is made by Anchor Industries/Westar and is made of 1/8" steel. The top hole is also incorrect if memory serves.

I believe the correct way to do this is to rebuild the original mount with the Anchor Industries "insert", I am just not sure how to do this and afraid I'll damage the original mount in trying it without direction?

Help anyone?

Tflitepatty's looks to be correct. It looks and is described to be NOS. It is possibly a rebuilt item, the swaging of the steel mount sleeve looks a bit unfamiliar, though I've never seen a new "yellow" mount. In any event, I am looking for a standard part for a 340 Challenger.

Close!

Thanks
