OK, in a nutshell, I decided the '73 Roadrunner needs to get back on the road. Got me a 440 and I can't help myself, I just bought a 4spd and pedal assy out of a junked '73. The motor came out of a project Charger but has the numbers 4T440 on the pad. (Truck?)
The stumpers are:
The motor isn't drilled for a pilot bushing,
The dampner is marked 3614374 (400 cast crank?)
The crank looks forged, and has the #3751888-6 for a casting number.

The question is, do I use a jeep pilot bushing and just cut down the trans input shaft?
Should I pull the crank and drill it?
What's the deal on the flywheel balance?
Can I use a Hurst shifter if I get the aluminum adapter plate and the correct shift rods? (Would like to keep my console, the trans was out of a bench car and I didn't think to get the shifter.)

Or, should I just shoot myself in the head now?

I am no virgin to auto to stick conversions, this will be my first Mopar though. (Sure, gotta experiment with MY toys.)

Revhendo.

Rev. Isaac Asimov once said, "Individual science fiction stories may seem as trivial as ever to the blinded critics and philosophers of today, but the core of science fiction, its essence, has become crucial to our salvation, if we are to be saved at all."
