somone on here use to sell a chromy carb hat with a screen on top. anyone know who that was. thx they use to be sold on ebay also

they look like noodle strainers, so you probably could build your own

I wonder how much of the inlet surface area is reduced by the screen, thus reducing the airflow capacity. Consider why paper air filters are pleated, to increase the surface area and increase the airflow. Personally, Id stick to a good high quality filter, rather than any screen.

If your problem is sparrows, ping-pong balls, wrenches, etc. a screen is fine.
If it's something smaller than that, like dust & sand, it's a great way to reduce power without protecting the engine at all.

i was looking at noodle strainers at the dollar stoor..it was stainless...
just about the right size and only a dollar
fwiw..they had multiple configurations...

I made one like that, just autozone, walmart, door edge guard, snapped around the edge. easy, even I could do it
