Save money - just stuff a shop rag into the carb.

they look like noodle strainers, so you probably could build your own

I wonder how much of the inlet surface area is reduced by the screen, thus reducing the airflow capacity. Consider why paper air filters are pleated, to increase the surface area and increase the airflow. Personally, Id stick to a good high quality filter, rather than any screen.

I have one that I got off ebay. I seem to remember you asking me about it a long time ago.

If your problem is sparrows, ping-pong balls, wrenches, etc. a screen is fine.
If it's something smaller than that, like dust & sand, it's a great way to reduce power without protecting the engine at all.

I made one like that, just autozone, walmart, door edge guard, snapped around the edge. easy, even I could do it

I got 2 old radio speaker(the steel ones)covers. I got them for 5 bucks at a car stereo shop . I drilled a hole in the center and put me a small stud in the hole for the air filter stud and bolted them down. I have a dragster and on the return road the slicks will throw small pebbles and anything else up in the air, sometimes over the front end of the car
I run the Ron's FI Terminators so hopefuly I still get enought air.
