I'm probably about a month away from seeing how this thing runs.

New Combo:
Wiseco forged pistons 7.7:1 comp ratio (1.0mm top ring , 1.5mm second ring, 3mm oil), Short block takes 11lbs to start rotating and 7lbs to maintain the spin.
K1 7.0" rods & ARP 2000 bolts (rods and pistons took almost 3lbs out over the stockers)
Hussy copper head gasket with block o-ringed
ARP head and main studs. Had a custom set of ARP 220,000 psi head studs made
Ported head / big valves (200cfm in/170 cfm ex....Stock was 120 In /90 ex)
Cam 114lsa, 227@50 .475" lift.
PTE 6262 DBB turbo, intercooled, with meth injection
600 Holley DP blow thru.
3.5" down pipe/exhaust to the axle and a 3" tail pipe

Old combo:
Stock engine 80k miles (7.6CR) with turbo bolted on and a lot of boost (29psi)
stock cam was .365" at the valve
Same turbo, Carb, header/exhaust...etc to be used in above.

Best pass on the old engine was: 11.77 @ 116mph @ 3500lbs race wt with 215/75/14 radials. Best MPH was just short of 118

The upgraded cam and increase in cyl head flow is going to make a phenomenal difference to that slant. You should at least get to the bottom 11's, but you're going to have to step it up in the traction department.

I didn't know a stock Slant Six could tolerate 29 lbs of boost.

Is this engine going in the Dart Swinger behind it?

I'm excited to see what happens next.

The engine is going into the Swinger. I believe the stock engine had enough power to push the car into the low 11's given the mph. Traction was the problem. The best 60 was a 1.79 on the 215/75/14 radials. I'm hoping the new MT ET streets (255/60/15) allow me to leave on more than 3psi of boost and improve the overall ET. Given everything should in theory flow better. I may be able to do the same with less boost.

Vids of the car are on youtube....links are in my sig.

One of these days I'll take a pic of the failed piston.

If it doesn't go 9's I'll be dissapointed.

Nice stuff Tommy.

PS: you really need me to make you an intake.

HHmmmm. Looks like I'm about to get beat. I think you'll hit the tens pretty easy. Don't forget to wax the Swinger for that extra tenth. Looks good Tom.

dude make sure..SURE your rear end can handle the extra hp/torque you are getting ready to unload. Ask me how I know... My 1st all out pass on my old 67 coronet ended in a completly destroyed 8.75. Granted it was 30+ years old and had seem hundreds of runs but the extra torque finished it. I'd back brace your rear before you try the stickies...

But so long as you're running those dinky 215/75/14's I don't think you'll get enough traction to do some damage. Please tell us you're stepping up to some decent tires to show us what that slant can really do!

That is just kewl. I can hardly wait to see new video's. It was impressive to see it running high 11's before, I'm hoping you'll see low 11's or high 10's with the new motor.

I've still got an 8V car, and the new one has 8 per bank!

Then the other motor has 10 per bank, not sure what my excuse will be then!
