I have a couple holes in the firewall that I am not sure what they are for.

Here is the other hole. Is this for the tach wire?

Top picture I believe is Air Grabber cable hole,Not sure about second, the tach wire comes out a little above and to left(drivers side) of bulk head connector.

First pic is where air grabber cable comes through firewall, second pic is where factory tach wire comes through. If car is marked N96 on tag then someone drilled that hole.

OK , it does have a N96 on the tag. So, which hole has been added? The hole on the driver's side is too small for the grommet on the tach wire lead. Does this mean the tach was not an option factory installed on this car?

Thanks,
Mark

They might have drilled that hole to run a tach wire. I know the factory hole is in that area. I don't know the option code for factory tach. If you have a factory tach open up that hole till gromet fits.

Thanks for the responses guys.
I thought that the N96 was the air grabber code? Is that correct?

Yes that is the Code for Air Grabber , ALL hemi cars had it .

The only way to know if it's an original tach car is to look at the Broadcast Sheet, it's not on the fender tag . the hole in your firewall on the drivers side is not in the correct location for the tach , added by a previous owner .

This is not correct, if a car came with a Tach it is on the fender tag, N85

It depends on what plant produced the car, I don't think Lynch Rd. built cars coded it.

The passenger side is the A/G cable hole as others have said. The driver's side hole should have a bolt/stud with a washered nut... not sure what attaches, maybe the heater box or a brace.

Here is another survivor pic showing the tach wire coming out of the correct area as well as the stud/nut out of the hole you are asking about.

The heater box and associated parts were removed from this car for the installation of AC. All those original parts were gone when the car was brought to me, so I didn't realize that was a stud hole. I am not sure what part of the "ductwork" fastened there though?

Thank you Kowal for the picture.
