Hi- is there just one position to install the torsion bars? I ask because mine are uneven and I’m trying to figure out if they are just fatigued or in wrong.

The driver’s side has the adjuster all the way maxed out, and the passenger side if maxed out makes the ride height about 1.5 inches higher on that side. So I have the passenger side wound way down to match the ride height.

Seem strange?

Thanks!!

Sounds like tired bars to me. Mine droops too.

Time for new ones.

I figured they were tired too. I want to get my front end nice and high, as in old school superstock style. What's a good bar diameter to go with? Car has a 440 in it.

How can I tell if it's in the wrong hex? Thanks for the help.

T-bars do wear out. I can crank mine up a couple inches and it'll settle back down after a little driving. The bolt doesn't back out.
The front of the hot rod sits level right now. The adjuster on the right side sticks out past the control arm. The driver's side is up inside the arm.

T-bars absolutely do wear out. They wear pretty slowly, esp. compared to coils. But get a nick, scuffs, or some rust on the T-bar and they will actually wear rather quickly. T-bars are springs and the point of failure and rate of wear can be calculated.

As far as which springs to use, just like anything, you have to figure what you're using it for an consider the rest of your setup.

If you have SS Springs you are going to have to put several more turns in the LR bar to even the cars attitude.
