......I am considering using a '76 727 trans I just bought in my '69 Super Bee. I was told that it came out of a Chrysler, probably a New Yorker. It worked fine, the one in my Bee needs a rebuild, so I'd like to use this one if I can. The Bee will be more of a driver than anything, with a slightly warmed up 383. Several questions, one is will a fluid/filter change and front/rear seals be sufficient? The fluid looks clear and red, but it has been sitting ahwile. And should I adjust the bands? I know how now, thanks to John and my manual........my '73 Roadrunner is running great, by the way.........and I would rather do it when the pan is off, if needed. Lastly, will the once piece throttle pressure linkage work with my Bee? Thanks for your input!

I'd get in touch with A&A transmission too.
Not matter how hard you bottom out that kickdown linkage, your Bee will upshift between 4500 and 5000rpm. Way too early.
A&A will have a governor that will let your 383 swing to 6000rpm.

Here's what I'd do,
Change the front & rear seals. Adjust the bands. Install a basic shift kit. Let A&A advise on what governor to update to. Get a deep pan and/or cooler. New filter & fluid (Type-F).
If you can, inspect the old driveshaft of the New Yorker and see if the slipyoke is galled or smooth. No sense in marring the D-shaft of your Superbee if the tailshaft bushing in your trans is toast. Been there.
Adding more capacity of fluid is going to assure you a longer lifespan since heat is the number one nemesis of the transmission.
If you can change a governor, you can put in a shift kit.

It's usually common knowledge that grease is not used internally within an automatic transmission. In case you haven't heard that. Petroleum jelly or a specifically approved lube is advised.
I'd take a flashlight to it and see how it looks.

All 727 output shafts have the same spline, if the '69 yoke fit OK in the '69 but won't go into the '76 something is wrong with the '76 shaft or bushing.
