Im swapping the 318 for a 360 in my sweptline. I need to find a way to balance the flywheel, I have a NP 4speed. Ive thought about drilling the 3 holes in my flywheel as I havent found a used 360 truck 4 speed wheel yet. I then happened upon this item. It sounds too good to be true. Its a 6 hole crank balance plate the fits between the crank and flywheel. Has anyone used this or heard of this? Any feed backs? Thanks for the help. http://www.kmjent.com/cart/product.php?productid=207768 fish

I've done the same "trick" using a B&M flexplate for the 360, sandwich it between the flywheel and crank. Never had an issue with tooth engagement.
They say there are no such thing as a stupid question. They say there is always the exception that proves the rule. Don't be the exception.

I have used it in a bunch of applications--It works with flywheels NO issues yet--I have even used it with 400 and 440 cast cranks and guess what? They run smooth enough you would never know--a wonder product if ever there was one--and they are a MUST if you have a stock internal balance flywheel on your test stand--you can run anything

I'm wondering if more people have tried this here yet. I tried going to the site that was posted up above...but I couldn't even email them....but I did find the part on Summit and QuickTime sites. Lakewood Summit

I'd have to admit that is a little scary....if you look at McLeod SFI flywheels that sell a screw on plates for externally balanced stuff for mopar and they are not the same plates for the 360,400/440

Well, it's a little discouraging that they don't specify what it's for, I'm assuming 360s. On the other hand, chevy guys have been doing this for decades, running neutral balanced flywheels on 400s and 454s. Some have even sandwiched a flexplate with the right imbalance between either the flexplate or the flywheel.
One could put this plate behind a flywheel or behind a flexplate. Doesn't matter, if the bolts are loaded properly.
