I'm putting everything back together on my 4-speed converted big block Challenger and have an alignment problem. The clutch rod is about 40 degrees (downward) off from where it connects to the clutch fork.

I am using all NEW E-Body specific parts parts to include:

Z-Bar
Aluminum Bellhousing
Clutch Fork
Clutch Rod

The Z-Bar is in its appropriate location and the pedal rod alignment is spot-on. The actuation works fine and the clutch feels nice and smooth.

Is it NORMAL for this rod to be off and not straight on the clutch fork?? Am I going to have problems down the road with this?

Thanks!

Steve

There are multiple Z-bars that are the same width, but have different tab alignment and length..

I had a similar problem with my 70RR which had the wrong Z-bar.

I would suggest that you talk with Wayne @ Brewers.. He has all of the Z-bars and knows Mopars very, very well..
