Finally got back around to this project. Getting ready to drop the 512 back into my street car. I haven't touched this project in a long time. The car has a thick coating of dust on it!

Nice! Is that going in the Coronet I've seen a few pics of? Is that a Doug Nash tranny?

Sweet tell us more about the combo. Are you going to run the manifolds too?

Yep, manifolds are a must for me. 512 inch low deck with RB mains, cross bolted main caps, roller bearing camshaft. CNC ported Mopar 452 heads. Callies crank, Crower rods, custom Diamond pistons. Tons of custom stuff, the dang project took me about 5 years. I think the guys at CRE machined this block back in 2005.

Close up of the head pipe on the driver's side. It has to snake around the bellhousing, starter and clutch linkage. Nobody makes 3 inch pipes that work so it all had to be built by hand.

Here is the rotating assembly. Callies crank with 440 mains, Crower rods and Diamond pistons. The big dish gets the compression down for pump gas.

Roller bearing camshaft. This wasn't one of my better ideas!

Yep, Doug Nash five speed.

Yes, it is going in the Coronet as soon as I clean away the clutter in the shop.

Looks tough Andy now get that thing in the car and grab some gears.
Do you have a 3.27 low in that Nash box? My Richmond has the 3.27 and it works well with the 3.54 rear gear.

Doesn't take too long to drop it in the car. Hooking it all up does take a little wrenching though.

Looking awesome as always Andy. I'd love to know the number off of that shifter handle.

Andy, it looks great. One question though, why is the roller cam bearings a bad idea? Not like you to take the time and trouble to do something you don't feel is worth it.

Good luck, Paul

Good deal, have some fun with that thing!
I'm about ready to get the old nasty GTX out again also.

I modified my core support so it can be removed. Sure makes pulling the engine a lot faster. With the overhead crane and the carb plate tilter it is literally a 5 minute job. I can remember years ago wrestling an engine hoist around in the driveway for several hours trying to install the engine the first time!

Interesting stands the car is on. I might just make a set of those.

In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice, there is.

Very handy stands, I use them all the time. Quite safe also when bolted in place as they are basically impossible to tip over.

Well making down the quarter mile has never been a big priority with me. This car has big brakes, big anti-sway bar up front, big torsion bars, etc. It isn't designed for drag racing but it does have enough power to do okay.
