When i purchased teh car the clock was not working after removing the glove box i noticed not only was it unplugged but also a few wires were cut.

My question is when i plugged the wires back in, the display was on w/o the car being on but if i connect the cut wires the hud is faded, showing very lightly.

Is this how it is supposed to be? how will my battery do?

there is a 6 plug connector and someone cut all 5 wires and braided 1 wire(i assume the ground) to another black wire and 2 others to (i assume a hot wire) the display is on at all times however when i connect the two missing wires to the 12v source the display fades away as if to save energy but retain memory.

As for the cigarette lighter it was operational when first purchased but recently stopped working i checked the wire there only seems to be 1 wire going to it (red) no ground wire anywhere. I think it went out when i installed the radio along with the gas gauge which only likes to show the little red light and not tell me how much gas i have.

If i add a ground wire to the cigarette lighter, do you think it will work again? Where could the initial problem be if it went out while installing the radio?

well i should proably turn the key before posting shouldnt i?

there is no increase in intensity on the clock when i turn the key, that may eliminate my first idea.

i cant seem to find the chronometer on the schematics. the plug contains one blue one red one orange one solid black and one black with yellow stripe.

it is being connected to a 3 plug molex connector with one orange one black and one grey with black stripe. the black and grey wires are cut while the orange remains intact. does anyone know of a way to route these 5 cables in order to set up the clock?

these re jimi rigged connections not plug ins. i plan to use tunnel connects in the end.

That 6 wire plug maybe the blower resistor plug for the heater. Have you checked the fuses to see if you blew one while installing the radio. The lighter is grounded by the dash it's screwed into unless it has a tab at the base of the housing. You bought yourself a real beauty of a project didn't you.

well i don't think there are as many problems as there seem too be, most of the current fixes will be unheard of after I restore the interior.

the seis fits directly into the green molex connector attached to the chrono housing exactly.

The heater plugs are all connected and intact just below the glove box.

I always enjoyed tearing things apart that i couldnt put back together and I hope to live up to the w1red license plate i plan to one day make.

Does anyone know about the missing clock in the schematics?

there are pictures here. is that the tab youre talking about?

The tab if there is one is on the outer lighter housing on the back near where the postive connector is. I'd be a lot more busy working on the over heating problem rather than a clock that may or may not be any good and a silly cigerette lighter.
