I'm looking for a new set of valve springs that need to be 1.50 to 1.56 O.D. installed at around 1.950 installed hieght that I can get 680 + lbs open pressure with .730 net lift I'm using a set of T&D rockers and can not use the 1.625 O.D. springs on that set I called and ordered a set of the PAC 1225 dual valve springs for my motor direct from PAC Very easy to deal with THANKS TO ALL OF YOU FOR THE HELP. The 527 will run again and hopefully make power at a higher RPM These springs call for a installed hieght of 2.00 with 250 lbs seat pressure they show 765 lbs open pressure at 1.200 or .800 lift. I will play around with the install hieght and the coil bind distance to get the most pressures I can. I'm shooting for .060 to .080 from coil bind on the open hieghts. My current installed hieght is 1.960 to 1.980 with the Comp Tititanium 10 degree retainers, I'm hoping they will work if not I guess it is time to buy the correct ones I'm also planning on replacing the 3/8x.120 wall pushrods with some thicker, stiffer ones

I am using the PAC-1225 springs. http://www.pacracing.com/1200_Series-Dual_Springs.htmlOD = 1.550", 250# at 2.00", 765# at 1.20" rated for 0.800" lift. I don't have the part number handy, but I used Crower +0.100" height Ti retainers to get 1.950" install height. I think the closed pressure at 1.950" is around 270-275. Originally I had also used +0.050" locks to get 2.00" install height, but my T&D rockers would not clear the retainer. It would probbably work if I was using lash caps, but then I would have to get shorter pushrods.

Well silly, it's because they are.. Not opinion, just a fact.. BTW. I use 1.625 Erson/Nextek on my T&D set up.. no issues.. Just get the right retainer. This is a B1 with over .830 lift. 285# seat & 810# open.. 2.050 installed ht. #1224 or #1324 pac would be the best choice at that size, but the pac #1225 1.550 is a really good spring also. Chris..

Cab,
Take a look at Comp 999. I have have had really good luck with these and have an orphaned set, cheap. Managet to get to 8K with SS valves and a tame ramp.

That looks like the answer I have a set of Comp Cams on there now, they set up at 275 on the seat and 670 to 680 over the nose new. This is on my 527 motor that I have been dyno testing carbs and intakes on. I lost two pistons in it due to detonation and I'm putting it back together now, the springs lost around 25 lbs on the seat and over the nose. The motor made peak HP around 6500 RPM and I'm wanting to push that higher so the quest for a better valve spring. Last question, I hope, who has the best deal on those valve springs? Thanks to all of you, together we can help each other

PAC springs ARE the answer.

Thus, introducing 2 errors. If the geo is already correct (but clearance is not) lash caps require stand shims and longer pushrods.

Chris..
does anyone have any facts on this or us it like saying one oil is better than the other from engine failure.
Just look at the valvetrain on Pro Stock and Comp cars.
I'll bet you see Jesel or T&D.
And I'll also bet you wont find any Harland Sharps on those engines.. That to me, would be fact..

You may see Wilfords stuff and Jesel, but I don't think T&Ds stuff is in PS. That being said, T&D is a great rocker and is on a lot of very fast cars.
