Been looking on line for a radiator replacment for my 72 charger. The problem i am running into is all the ones that i have found, the bottom outlet is on the drivers side, my 440 has the later style water pump which has the outlet on the passenger side. Does anyone make a lower radiator hose long enough to go from the drivers side (radiator) to the passenger side (motor)?

You can make a hose from elbows and straight sections. Summit sells a number of kits that would probably work.

Another option is a radiator made for your application. The stock style high capacity aluminum radiators Mancini sells are made to order. You can get the outlet installed wherever you want. They're good but a little expensive.

The third option would be to get a new aluminum water pump housing with the traditional muscle car drivers side outlet - unless there are limitations like other late model accessories. Not terribly expensive and you can use normaly configured radiators and probably get molded hoses from NAPA at reasonable cost. Mancini, 440 source and others sell the housings. Also available on Ebay I believe.

I went through this with a core B engine from a 1978 Cordoba. I wanted the lighter housing. With the drivers outlet, the hose would interfere with the Cordoba PS pump. I wound up using re-pop late 60's/70's style brackets from Bouchillon for everything. Later I switched the alternator back to the Cordoba bracket to get the jumbo 100A alternator. Belt alignment was fine but I had to lengthen the water neck to get the top hose to clear the belts.

US radiator will build you the rad you need. There very resonable and there radiators are copper brass just like orignal. Just ordered a 22" for my 68 B Body $348.00 brand spankin new. Only difference between there's and orignal is no part number on top tank.

I bought an afco universal rad with the passenger side outlet. I think it was advertised as a universal chevy rad. I still had to do some custom hoses to get it to hook up. I bought one of those rad hose kits that comes with the flexible metal hose you cut to length and bend as needed.

I just purchased a custom built rad from Mancini for my '68 B body. Every opening is placed where you instruct them. The holes for mounting are also put where you tell them. It might be a bit expensive, but the ease of mind and installation might be worth it.

i put a Griffin chevy style double 1" row aluminum radiator in my '71. bent up some brackets with rubber sections to help with vibration. i had one of those flexible hoses for years but it was really cutting flow. when i did the rebuild, i bought a couple different hoses with bends in them and used some pipe to connect the 2 rubber sections i cut together and make a perfect hose. wish i could have found a hose molded how i needed it, but couldn't. the problem i ran into, and the reason for fabbing up that lower hose was that the lower radiator outlet points up at a 45 angle instead of straight out.

for the upper hose, a '71 318 hose fit perfect

Landon, now I have a q for you: Is there really a difference in coolant flow between using bent rubber and flexible stainless steel braided hoses? I'll be ordering soon and was leaning towards steel braided.

idk about the stainless hoses - too expensive for me. i had one of those rubber hoses that are accordion-like with a spring in it. but it still would collapse and kink, thus limiting flow. i suppose the stainless ones would work if they are able to bend in a tight enough radius. jmo, but what i'm using now is much better than a kinked/collapsed flexible hose.
