OK-- Just put my new dash assembly in"Fast Lane west" for what I thought was for the last time HaHa,SO I went to try everything out--Now when I apply the brakes the turn signal lights light up on the dash ??? otherwise everything works the way it should blinkers,Hazards --Now I did change from a gm style headlight switch(painless) to a Mopar original headlight switch--What did I wire wrong

If you can point me in the right direction--

Sounds like another ground issue. Are the parking lights and dash lights also coming on when stepping on brake?

N0 Just the turn signals man I went to the extreme on the grounding did not want any ground issues--Steve

Sounds like something to do with the switch wiring. The common denominator between the brakes and the signals .... is the switch.

I agree with the ground issue. When you say "turn signal lights" do you mean both of them in the dash or all 4 plus the dash. Also if it is all 4 will they blink when pressing the brake.

Back in the 70's my cousin had a 4 speed car that would have his "reverse" lights on when he turned on his radio.

Just wondering if you are using a fiberglass front lower valance?

No plastic and It is just the turn signal indicators on the dash you know the left and right indicators --Steve

Ground the dash backplane to your steering column and your problem should go away.

Dash backplane??? these are all autometer gauges in a fast lane west insert all the gauges are grounded separate to one main ground--could it be the ground from the headlight switch this is also grounded separate--Steve this did not happen with gm headlight switch only with the mopar headlight switch that's why i think i got some wiring messed up when i switched back to the mopar switch

Everything works great--turn signals--hazards but when i push on the brake the turn signal indicators come on--yes everything works like it should turn signals flash--hazards work --the gauges are grounded directly to the main ground from the batt I ran to the front of the car

does the front marker lights turn on too???

what about the rears???

if the fronts do and the rears not- then the wiring is reversed in the turn signal switch from front to back!

normally when brake is turned on- only power to the rear lights are on- front and dash signals are not part of the brake circuit.

so if your not using a factory mopar harness or someone has been monkeying around by resplicing the wires- you have a problem. first double check the wiring at the turn signal switch to make sure nothing is changed.
also make sure the tail lights are both grounded good!!!

my

test for correct wiring alignment at the turn signal switch connector. it looks like you are have the turn indicater lights on the dash connected to the rear turn signal wires. they need to be on the front wiring.

I used a fiberglass lower valance and a similar thing happened except when I turned on the headlights the indicators glowed dimly. Ran a ground to the combo front lamps and problem went away

Turn signal indicator lights in dash coming on with brake lights indicates the rear brake/turn signal bulbs are not grounded and the brake lights are grounding through the turn signal side of the bulb through the dash signal indicators.

Ground the rear bulb housings.
