No they didn't.

What he wants is to put a FWD engine in a RWD application.

What you are talking about is a "kit" to replace all the FWD junk with a V8 and RWD in a FWD car, opposite of what he wants.

If I read this right you want to take a FWD 4 cylinder and bolt it in place of a V8/6 to make a 4cylinder RWD car/truck?

What kinda car or truck would you want to do this too?

I read he is wanting to put a V8 in a FWD car. I know of two people that have done it in a Plymouth Sundance. Both used the mopar kit and it worked.

4BBL please specify what car and what engine you are refering to, please.

There is a company making kits to convert 4cyl FWD cars into RWD V-8's. They advertise in MCG. Their kits are simliar, but more complete than the Mopar one from a few years ago.

Here ya go:

I saw a Daytona/Laser a few years back with a FOX ford suspension under it, the owner said it fit like it was made for it, he redrilled the stock upper mounts for the ford struts and fabbed up mounts for the K frame.

He didn't have a bar in it and the rear suspension was pretty simple too, ladder bars with cheap coil overs and a stock width A body 8.75.

I want to use a FWD 4cyl (like a daytona turbo)in a home built small chassis with a RWD trans, manual.
Few years ago I saw daytona turbo that the owner had used a dakota auto on and was getting 9sec or so ets in the 1/4.

Moparts member dirt runs exlinecustomauto.com he sells the parts to convert a fwd to rwd. Pretty good kit and his uses the unibody of the car as the frame by adding in extra supports and frame connectors. Check out his website.

Kugel Components makes Focus RWD conversion stuff. Saw it at SEMA in 2001.

Have a look and do what they did.

Don't think the 4 banger dak came with an automatic.

I converted a Plymouth TC-3 (Dodge Omni fastback) to RWD. It cost me around $2500. All you need is a TC-3, the front subframes, wheel wells, floor and tunnel from a Fox body Mustang; a rear from a Dart, a 360, and a transmission; along with a few parts (depending on your likes and dislikes) ladder bars; and a few tools most importantly, a welding machine. I have driven it 48,000 miles and with the OD trans, I get 26 mpg, can cruise at 150 mph, do the quarter in less than 14 seconds (tires were too hard and slipped all the way - sticky tires will take care of that) Mopar Action liked it a few years ago.

Calling it a "kit" was overly optomistic. It was more like a couple pieces of steel that needed a lot of fab work to make anything out of.

Okay, who dug up the two year old post?

Still, I have some info for others who may be reading it...

When using a home built chassis, the info you gain here may be difficult to use.

These guys know how it's done: http://locostusa.com/forums/
