The best wey to get the exact info I need on some very specific issues is to play twenty questions.

Here's the first:
The factory never offered nor make a 440 Dart. (T) (F)?

I thought any 440 Darts went through Hurst then Spaulding. You couldn't order one through your local dealer. Straighten me out...

OK. 1969. Dart GTS; factory built 440. Got it.
Was PS, PDB, and A/C available?
Plus, I'm looking *HERE* and don't see anything about a 440 being available. Anywhere else I can look?

Here. I'll elliminate 3 - 20 with one question: I need all the specs possible for a 1969 GTS 440 4 speed. Options, codes, deletes, stand. equipt., #'s, blah blah blah. If it's relevant, I'm interested...

A very long while back, in about 1982 I looked at a few M code 1969 Darts for sale. Larry Sheppard of Chrysler told me he was thinking Chrysler made about 200 of them. I found out later that only 1 "M" Code Dart was sold new in Canada and 4 "M" Code Barracudas were sold new in Canada along with plenty in the USA. If you would like to know a lot more there are "A" Body sites and Darts sites that can give good answer if the answer on Moparts are not enough.

1969 GTS 440.

No four speeds
All console auto
No disc brakes
Power steering? I'm not sure.

Now, as for the reasons Chrysler gave for the disc brakes (power brakes were "necessary" with discs). That reason is bogus as manual discs were available on other A-bodies.

And, for the reason they are not listed in the link you provided. The 440 was not available at the beginning of the model year.

There were 640 440 M code Dodge GTS Darts made in 69. All autos, no 4 spds.

Heres a link that may answer some questions:

As far as I have been told the 68 Darts that got 440's were installed at Mr Norms Grand Spaulding Dodge. The 69 factory 440's were installed at Hurst but then sent back to the factory and could be ordered at any Dodge dealer. No 440 Darts in 68 came from the factory as far as I know Mr Norm's did the only 68 440 Darts and he changed the GTS to GSS for Grand Spaulding Special as thats what I think it stood for. Ron

All 69 M-Code cars were built right on the Chrysler Assy. line not at Hurst. They were all floor shift automatics, manual drum brakes, and rear end gears of either 3:55 or 3:91. A.C.,power steering, power brakes or disc brakes were not available options. They all have rear spring front welded torque boxes, like a drop top has. Also on the data plate, cars with SBD before 329 will have either A13 or Y39 called out,but not both.I don't remember which one. After that date, the tag will have both. John.

This is ALL excellent stuff. Thank you.

Now, factory exhaust manifolds for the 69 440:
M-code only or were taken from the parts bin?

Left side is M-Code only, good luck finding that one,BIG $$$.Right side is the same as 383 A-body,but with a 3/4" spacer added onto the bottom to space the pipe down away from the body.I think someone was talking about repoping this spacer, not sure if it available yet. Also the L/F motor mount bracket is unique to M-Code only. John.
