We have used hundereds of Indy pushrod kits(we cut and build for each application)Hemi,Wedge and small block. The only issues we have seen is the occasional loss of a pushrod for varying reasons,ie: adjustment, geometry, bad rocker or adjuster, and cam and lifter issues. We had a bad set of 5/16 SB pushrods that the lifter ends flattened in the press, but that was over 8 years ago and Indy replaced them, nothing since. We also use Manton and Smith with no problems either.

I just bought a set from Trends in Detroit, MI. One piece, custom lenght, 210 deg rad. on the ball (.080 moly) for $117.00 plus shipping. That is less than Indy gets for the cut to fit crap.
That's great!!! We are not suggesting to anyone who's to buy and who has the best pricing, just sharing our experience on the subject of "Indy pushrods"If we were only buying one set then I would want the "best" and not necessarrly the "cheapest" since a "junk pushrod" can cause a lot of damage. In some applications we are paying $350 to $500 for a set of custom made pushrods and certainly not from Indy. For the most part, since we make a quite a few sets that range from .080 to .180 wall at differnt lengths(especially Hemi)the price varys as well as the cam and spring demands,we find the Indy kits serve our purpose for the majority of our street and bracket engine builds.Just or opinion, experience and thoughts on the suject, nothing more. Respectfully Bob

Your instinct about not installing those pushrods are right on. Even if you follow thier chart on what they want for adjustment. They Break and its your fault. They'r not going to be there to help you after the fact. If you want I have a hole set out of my $5000.00 kit i'll hook you up with. you'll only have to replace 2 rockers and 6 or 7 pushrods! Thier pushrods and adjuster screws are junk! Heads are awesome. I know i'm going to get some rebuttal from the pro builders but people like me that only have the one race car, It Sucks To spend the kind of money Indy gets and skimps on critical parts. Whats worse is how they walk away refuse and forget you after the money is spent. Smith Brothers Pushrods!!! Harland Sharp Rockers !!

While I don't disagree with Indy's service after the sale I do disagree that there products are junk. I have ran the same pushrods and rocker arms for ten years with no problems. Last year I broke a rocker arm. Replaced with new set of Indy's. Still using same pushrods. Care must be taken to ensure proper pushrod length so not to much adjuster is protruding from the bottom of the rocker. I think ten years on the rockers is pretty good. I cut and press my own. Never galled one. Did gall MP pushrods years back. Just my opinion.

Everyone that has had good luck with indy's rockers and pushrods all seem to have been from a few years ago before the economy started putting a strain on suppliers to do the materials cheeper. No more russian rullette for me!

Springs are K-Motion. Seat pressure @ 245. Open @ 650. Cam lift @ valve .640 I agree with Jimmy

I don't agree with that assessment. Most failures are a result of inferior labour surrounding the part. Things like galled ends... recieved no oil. So do you blame the pushrod? My rockers weren't grooved for pushrod oiling. So instead of putting it together and waiting for it to all blow apart, I took the responsibility to groove them, so I wouldn't be pointing false fingers at indy, claiming everything they make is junk. Its weird that Bob George has built more of these than all the individuals put together and has no failures.....

So when you buy a "complete Kit" from any engine supplier, you should go in and modify the parts? My intent was to buy a one source head kit from someone reputible. Indy didn't reccomend grooving anything. Just make the pushrods so the adjuster screws come out right at flush or one thread sticking out Per thier sheet. Did it exactly as directed and pitched half the valve train. Everyone has problems with thier stuff from time to time but c'mon, I'm not alone here this isn't a random rant. Just bent at the fact that Indy absolutly bails after the sale Unless your a dealer. Thats it! I'll become a dealer and begin defending thier stuff!! PS Not bagging on anything they sell except the pushrods and rockers. JMO!

I use Smith Bros pushrods with very good results for many custom applications including builds with indy shaft rockers. If you are buying new pushrods, look them up.
The trend pushrods are very good too.
