I thought hemi orange was only used on High Performence motors? Sat with 383 would not be the high performence model. I had a 70 Coronet with 383 all orignal car and motor was blue.

Where does the car in question fall optionwise?
1970 Satellite w/383 4bbl: auto with A/C - blue auto without axle package - blue auto with A/C & "A36" (3.55s) - ?? auto with "A36" (3.55s) - ?? auto with "A31" (3.91s) - orange 3-speed - orange 4-speed - orange
It has a 4-speed manual trans, which means it can only be the 330-horse, 4-bbl 383 since it's in a Satellite?:
I guess that would make it orange?

It will be ORANGE & the original engine was "HP" (335hp) even though it wasn't spelled out that way in the paperwork shown, RARE insurance beater! Here's a '70 Sport Satellite b'cast sheet- 383 4bbl 4-spd w/3.23 open rear axle ENG - 087 - same as similar equipped Road Runner & CARB - 36 - Holley 4bbl #3418 5 36 - LIST R4367A We need more details and pics of the car - 2 door hardtop/convertible? Color combo?

The actual blue color came later with the low-compression "smog" motors.
My friends early build 70 Charger 500 383-2 bbl, auto w/A.C. this is an untouched original car,has a blue painted engine. John.

Four speed Satellites had the same engine assembly as the RR so it would be the 335 horse orange.
When I bought my car in '82 I had to rebuild the engine and I am positive it had never been rebuilt. It is a 4 speed HP stamped block, windage tray, Holley carb and orange. Here is a pic of one of 3 other 4 speed Sport Satellites that I know of and although it appears to have been either touched up or repainted it is an A/C 4 speed in orange. I don't know which carb.

So, According to this you could get the 330hp engine in a Belvedere? That rocks!
