Here is my situation...my original 71 drivers side fender is too rotted to keep/fix. So, many years ago before repopped fenders existed, I bought an original 71 drivers side fender (no gills but a 71). I am now restoring the car and don't want a repop fender since I have an original one.
What way should I go...stamp it (by who?) or get the patch and weld it in?
The patch seems very simple but time at the shop is money...is it more money than me shipping one fender to someone for a stamping?
Get it stamped, in no way should you even consider the patch. Rich did a beautiful job on mine. Where are you from in ILL ? Rich is just south of St Louis

Hi Al. Email sent/replied. I can still stamp the 71 Cuda' fender gill holes. As a rule after the stamping the only bodywork required is very minimal body filler around the gill holes. (usually spot putty or heavy primer will handle it). It eliminates the welding required to install the patch panels.(and the possible metal warping). I charge $200 a fender. I haven't had any complaints about how they turn out, everyone that I've done them for has been happy so far.
Kayse can't keep up at all now. lol
